Questions About Test Days:

1. When is My Skater Ready to Test?
Your coach will make this decision and let you know approximately 2 weeks before a Test Day.

2. Are There Additional Costs for Tests?
Yes.  Skaters undertaking tests must pay a "test fee" in addition to their Coach's fee, if applicable.  Testing fees are mandated by Skate Canada and must be settled at the Club Office prior to undertaking a test.  Coaching fees will be billed directly by the coach(es).

3. Getting Ready for a Test:
Skaters must wear a skating outfit which shows the line of the leg.  Skating dresses with tights are recommended for girls;  fitted stirrup pants for boys.  Hair should be groomed and pulled back from the face and skates should be clean.  Skaters may wear a jacket and gloves for the warm-up period prior to their test.

Skaters should arrive 30 minutes prior to their assigned testing time.  A warm-up period for skaters undertaking the same test will be provided in advance of the actual test.

4. Test Results:
Tests are judged by Skate Canada professional judges.  Marking is based on a scale (Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Needs Improvement), scoring either a Pass or Retry.  Results are typically available within an hour of testing.

5. Badges, Pins, Medals:
Test medals, pins and badges to recognize skater achievements can be ordered through the USC Club Office.  STARSkate medals, pins and badges are not included in the test fees and are an additional charge.
