Under Skate Canada’s STARSkate
Test Program, a series of standardized, progressive
Tests, approved and evaluated by Skate Canada Central Ontario
officials recognizes skater achievement:
Preliminary, Junior Bronze, Senior Bronze
Junior Silver, Senior Silver, Gold
- DANCE
- FREE SKATING
- SKATING SKILLS
Interpretive Tests at Introductory, Bronze, Silver &
Gold levels take place at centralized test locations. Please
speak to your coach for further information.
WHEN IS MY SKATER READY TO TEST?
Your coach will make the decision and let you know approximately
two weeks before Test Day. Fees must be settled before testing.
There are generally 3 Low (Primary/Intermediate) and 2 High
(Senior) Test Days throughout
the Winter Season.
Test Schedules are
posted on the USC bulletin board. Tests could take place
during the day and/or evening. Skaters should arrive 30
minutes before the assigned time, prepared to test.
WHAT TO WEAR
A skating outfit showing the line of the leg(a skating
dress and tights for girls and fitted stirrup pants for
boys), neatly groomed hair and clean skates. An additional
fleece and gloves may be worn for warm-up and Skating Skills
Tests.
TEST RESULTS
Tests are marked on a scale (Excellent, Good, Satisfactory,
Needs Improvement), scoring either a Pass or Retry. Results
are typically available within an hour of testing.
