About Us

Unionville Skating Club

USC is a proud non-profit member of Skate Canada. We understand the benefit of, and promote, learning in a fun, friendly, and safe environment.

 

Our highly qualified and experienced professional coaches encourage our members to develop their interest in the sport of skating, exploring his/her love of the ice at their own pace. We offer several avenues for self-improvement, competition, and exhibition for all ages and abilities. At USC, we strongly believe that acknowledging personal accomplishment builds character and confidence; USC recognizes and supports the hard work, dedication and achievements of all of its talented skaters.

We also believe that giving back to others builds a better community. The Unionville Skating Club proudly works with other organizations in our community to help make Unionville a better place to be.

Adult & Teen Skate

Skater must be at least 16 years of age by December 31st, 2019.

There will be a $25 administration fee for any refunds processed after classes begin, September 9th, 2019.  The last day to request a refund is October 12, 2019.

Can-PowerSkate & Advanced PowerSkate

Geared to skaters 6+ who have basic forward, backward and stopping skills. Skaters will be divided by skill level.

There will be a $25 administration fee for any refunds processed after classes begin, September 9th, 2019 for Fall/Winter and March 23, 2020 for Spring.  The last day to request a refund is October 12, 2019 for Fall/Winter and April 4, 2020 for Spring.

Preschool & CanSkate

Skater must be at least 3 years of age as of December 31st, 2019.

There will be a $25 administration fee for any refunds processed after classes begin, September 9th, 2019 for Fall/Winter and March 23, 2020 for Spring. The last day to request a refund is October 12, 2019 for Fall/Winter and April 4, 2020 for Spring.

The focus of this program is learning through FUN. This is a FULLY INSTRUCTED skating program for children aged 3-5yr using music, toys and stickers. Skaters will be introduced to the correct technique for forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and jumping. All skaters must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet, face masks are recommended. Snow pants or waterproof pants are recommended as skaters start by sitting on the ice. Skaters must wear gloves or mittens. The program is taught by NCCP certified professional Skate Canada coaches.

NOTE: IF YOU SKATER WILL BE 5.5 YEARS OR OLDER BY THE START OF THE PROGRAM PLEASE REGISTER FOR CANSKATE EVEN IF THEY HAVE NO PRIOR SKATING EXPERIENCE
